Environmental Technology

The School of Environmental Science Technology was established in 2005. The School presently has seven Departments – Surveying and Geoinformatics has been in existence since 1980. Architectural Technology and Building Technology took off in 2005 while the Department of Environmental science, Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning took off in 2009. The School presently has one hundred and two (102) academic staff and plans to establish in the nearest future, new programmes in Meteorology and other environmental science programmes. The Higher National Diploma (HND) and the National Diploma programmes run for a minimum of four and a maximum of eight semesters.

DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY

Entry Requirement:

  • Candidate should possess at least five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent, in the following subject; Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry any one of the following: Geography, Technical Drawing, Building Drawing, Biology or Agricultural Science.

  • Applicants with any of the following qualification may be considered for admission into the National Diploma Programme by direct entry; S.S.S.C or its equivalent (N.T.C, WASC, NECO, NABTEB, O’Level) with five credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any  one other credit in the following: Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics and Building Drawing, obtained at not more than two sittings.

Entry Requirement:

National Diploma

Applicants with the following qualifications may be considered for admission into the National Diploma (ND) Programme by direct entry:

  • SSCE or its equivalents with credit passes in Mathematics and Physics and any other three subjects from the following: Statistics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Basic Surveying, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agricultural Science and at least a pass in English Language at not more than two sittings.
  • Five credit passes in relevant subjects as stated in (i) above obtained at the final examination of an NBTE or preliminary ND Programme offered in a recognized Polytechnic or similar post-secondary technical institution.

  OR

  • NTC in Building Trades in relevant subjects as stated above.

Higher National Diploma

Applicants with all the following qualifications may be considered for admission in the Higher National Diploma Programme by direct entry:

  • The entry requirements for the National Diploma Programme above.
  • National Diploma in Surveying and Geo-Informatics with a minimum of lower credit pass; and
  • A minimum of one year Post-National Diploma cognate work experience in the field of Surveying and
